PUMPKIN CONTEST RULES

1. Enter as many entries as you wish. The entry fee for each item is $1.00 per item up to $5.00. Entering more than 5 entries is encouraged, so no fee is charged for those additional entries.

1. Each entry should include a 3x5 card with the entry name (e.g. Grinning Goblin pumpkin) and comments on ingredients, pumpkin variety, grown from seed (do this to win bonus points from the judges) or interesting decorating facts (e.g. The feathers on his head are from my pet chicken DoDo). Do NOT include your name on the entry card. DO bring this card with you when you drop off your entry because it is easier to fill them out at home rather than when you hand them in for the contest.

1. Bring your entries, 3x5 cards, and entry form to Union Hall at the First Religious Society in Carlisle between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm on Friday October 19 or 8:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday October 20. Judging will begin promptly at 10:00 am on Saturday, so late entries cannot be accepted.

1. No one will be upset if gourds or squash are entered in this contest masquerading as pumpkins, however only real pumpkins are eligible for the Best Pumpkin award.

1. Judging results will be available by mid afternoon on Saturday.

1. Entries, trophies and ribbons can be picked up after 4pm on Saturday.
